I’m on a mission to beat the world toughest diseases – one lap at a time.
We’re The Casual Pool - a bunch of mostly paediatric nurses, friends and family who have bravely decided to take on the Perkins Plunge… despite the fact that most of us aren’t what you may call “elite swimmers.”
We’ll be taking on an overnight relay swim, swapping between laps, questionable swimming technique, inflatable pool toys and hopefully enough caffeine to keep us going until morning.
But behind the laughs, we’re swimming for something that means a lot to us.
Serious disease touches all of us. It might be a family member, a friend, a colleague or someone in our wider community, and as a team made up largely of paediatric nurses, we see first-hand how important medical research is.
Every day, we see how much difference the right equipment, knowledge, treatment and research can make to a child and their family.
That’s why we’re taking on the Perkins Plunge to raise funds for the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research and support the researchers working towards better understanding, earlier diagnosis and better treatments for serious diseases.
Please help us reach our fundraising goal and come and support us down at HBF Stadium.
Every dollar counts ❤️

We’re so proud of you. Love you xx
