An effort for my family and friends

Like many, I have lost loved ones, family and friends, to cancer – brain cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, bowel cancer, prostate cancer, melanoma… It’s a devastating time and the world feels lesser with them gone. And for those that have beaten it, they live with the experience and the threat of return. 

I am a strong advocate of medical research and believe that funds to support disease research WILL lead us to better health that we can live in confidence with. I believe that the day will come when my children, or their children, will not be confronted by terminal illness.

I’m passionate about participating in the Perkins Plunge to raise vital funds for WA medical research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. I understand that a 12-hour overnight swim may not be everyone’s idea of fun, and so I hope I can be your ambassador for contributing to this cause.

I’m swimming through the night to help WA’s best medical researchers. The funds I raise will support the brilliant minds at the Perkins who are committed to finding breakthroughs that will lead to breakthroughs and maybe even cures for the hardest-to-treat diseases.

Whether you join me in the pool (I’d love the company) or contribute to my fundraising page, your generous support matters now but, more importantly, safeguards our future health.
